Sports cards and memorabilia are sought after by collectors and fans around the world and for some time now collecting sport cards has been one of the most popular hobbies around. It can bring a great sense of achievement to see your sets grow and many of them will hold a special sentimental value to you.

This might be the most valuable one in your collection or possible a signed card from a game that you went to. Either way , there is a lot of nostalgia when collecting sport cards. If you want to start collecting sport cards then here are 4 beginner tips.

What cards to collect – nowadays this is all about preference. Topps is one of the most well known brands but there are so many high quality sets around that you should focus more on the cards that you want to collect instead of who makes them. For some, this might be cards for a certain player which will increase in value as the set grows, while others might like a wider variety and choose to collect cards for a certain sport such as football , basketball or hockey.

Where to buy them – There are a lot of shops dedicated to selling sports cards so you probably have a local one. With that said, you can almost always find them cheaper online such as on eBay. You can save a fair bit from buying other peoples unwanted cards which makes it a perfect place to look.

Trading them – Your first time trade is often the hardest. Its not so bad for kids, since they are trying to have fun and will have less sentimental value and less worry about the value. For adults though , a lot more attention needs to go into each trade. You can pick up some great deals by trading cards especially if you have an elusive card that someone else is after. If you plan on doing this then you should make a price guide your priority.

Where to store them – It doesn’t matter how well you look after them, they are cards are are likely to get scuffed or damaged the longer you own them which is why you need to protect them. You can get individual card sleeves for next to nothing so look at buying them in bulk. When you have a larger collection you might want to put your most expensive ones in something to show them off. Plaques and display cases can be custom made as you need them but if you want to have them more portable there are also binders and flip-top cases.

As a hobby, you should start off by making sure that you are having fun with your sport cards. There is plenty of time to take it more seriously as your collection grows and these 4 tips should serve as a good starting point.

MADRID , July 18 (Xinhua) -- Angel Maria Villar, the President of the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) was arrested along with his son Gorka on Tuesday as part of an anti-corruption operation carried out by Spanish Civil Guards.

The Spanish media reports that Villar, who was recently re-elected as RFEF President for an eighth term in office , has been detained on charges of suspicion of falsifying documents, corruption between individuals, and misappropriation of funds related to the organization of international matches.

Another of those reported as having been arrested in the "ongoing" operation is Juan Padron , the Economic Vice-President of the RFEF, while agents in investigating the case are carrying out searches and registering numerous documents.

Villar was acting UEFA President between October 2015 and September 2016 following the suspension of Michel Platini on corruption charges and was also Vice-President of FIFA, although he was fined 25 ,000 Swiss francs and warned by the FIFA Ethics Committee in 2015 for what they perceived as a failure to fully cooperate with their investigation into the bidding for the 2018 World Cup finals.
